About Us
Grady and Cheryl Hopson, owners of Copperstate Paving & Construction LLC, have been involved in the construction industry in Arizona for over 30 years. For 20 years they operated as Grady's Quality Excavating. In 1980, the couple moved to Arizona from Montana where they attended college. Grady Hopson studied Geology at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. His love for operating equipment began in his childhood, being raised on ranches and wheat farms, where he worked alongside his aunts and uncles. Grady was given leadership responsibilities at an early age, preparing him for his responsibilities of ownership today.
Grady gained knowledge and expertise over the past 30 years, working as a soils lab technician, serving as a volunteer fire fighter, as a crewman for Southern Union Gas, and he became a universal equipment operator working for several top notch construction companies.
Cheryl Hopson served the construction industry for 16 years in Prescott as the Executive Secretary of the Yavapai County Contractors Association. She worked alongside numerous Boards of Directors, growing their annual Home and Garden Show when the only venues were local school gymnasiums. In 1997, she and Grady ventured into their own construction company, Grady’s Quality Excavating. Cheryl is the company’s office administrator and together, she and Grady have managed up to 100 employees, at one time. Their established company of 20 years is comprised of professional and skilled employees and journeyman craftsmen, who are committed to the company vision.
Copperstate Paving & Construction LLC performs within residential, commercial, industrial and municipal endeavors. Working with large site development, commercial building construction and local homeowners, they will pay attention to details, safety and job performance. Their strengths lie in good communication, vast knowledge and experience of the trade, and ability to provide quality customer service.
